The fantastic New Goth Gypsies 7” drops today, it features new tracks by RUMTUM and Catamaran. The vinyl edition is limited to 500 copies and pressed on mustard yellow wax. The digital version also includes reciprocal re-workings by each artist. Order it now for only $5 and instantly receive an MP3 download of all the tracks.
“RUMTUM creates pulsing, blunt beats seguing in and out of movements. Catamaran takes a more overcast path but also more direct in it’s melody, as if you played a Joy Division single while it was being melted into certain death.”
- Weekly Tape Deck
“Catamaran’s music is firmly rooted in the pop persuasion, but his penchant for deep bass lines and electronic flourishes ensure that his infectious melodies won’t soon be forgotten.”
- Tiny Waves
“The outcome, as you’d imagine, is infested with mellow tribal overtones and enough summertime vibes to last you until next summer.”

The digital version of Seamonster’s upcoming (and excellent) Baldessari full-length includes a mini-collection of remixes by the likes of Yalls, Roman Ruins, Monster Rally, DJP&MrT, and the multitalented Eric Steuer. You might recognize him as half of Meanest Man Contest, half of Not the 1s, or as any number of his other gigs. Check out his remix of “Adeline” below, and grab a copy of the limited edition 12” while you still can.

Our new split 7” featuring new songs by RUMTUM and Catamaran will be released on September 4th as a limited edition vinyl record, but the digital version drops tomorrow (August 21st) as an advanced surprise. It includes reciprocal reworkings of each track by the participating artists, and the first of such premiered today on Dipped in Dollars. Check out RUMTUM’s reworking of Catamaran’s “Goth Creep” which throws a “lurid wash of tropical breakbeats and gorgeous samples over the original”.
Pre-order the limited edition 7” here, you’ll get an instant download of the full album.
Our main man Yalls (aka Dan Casey) has released a couple new remixes lately, the subjects range from a fellow Bay Area band (Seatraffic) to the wildly popular The xx. As always, his meticulous dissections lend a unique take to each track. I like how Gluttony is the New Black describes him as “the solo scientist who has a made an art out of manipulated vocals, funk and soul infused basslines”.
Keep an eye out for a new remix as part of the digital edition of Seamosnter’s new Baldessari 12”. The limited edition Fantasy 7” by Yalls is still available for you vinyl lovers.

Our good friends over at Hit City USA recently dropped a remix EP of tracks off Princeton’s brilliant debut LP Remembrance of Things to Come. It includes reworkings by Camera Obscura, DNTEL, RAC, Cosmic Kids, Kinema, Matthewdavid, and our very own Monster Rally. I really love how the styles collide in MR’s version of “Holding Teeth” which you can grab below. The rest of the EP can be copped here.
