By popular demand, we finally got around to releasing Monster Rally’s first EP (creatively titled MR EP) digitally so you can now find it on all your favorite services (Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, and a ton of other outlets).  It’s also a good thing because “The Wolf” is one of my all-time favorite tracks.  As an added bonus, Monster Rally has also contributed 4 bonus tracks to the digital edition which have never been heard before.  Here’s the tracklist:
Monster Rally - MR EP
01. Monster Rally - The Wolf 02. Monster Rally - Maori Mai 03. Monster Rally - Shangri La 04. Monster Rally - Honey Moon 05. Monster Rally - Pearly 06. Monster Rally - Suns Hula 07. Monster Rally - The Show (Bonus Track) 08. Monster Rally - ASK (Bonus Track) 09. Monster Rally - Zamrock (Bonus Track) 10. Monster Rally - Spiral (Bonus Track)

We’re pleased to announce the next release on Gold Robot Records, the next collaborative record from Monster Rally & RUMTUM.  The 12” features a single playable side and fully etched art on the other side (which you can see here).  The pressing is limited to 250 copies, only 100 of which will be sold online (each artist will receive 50, while 50 will be distributed to physical retailers).
The record drops out December 4th, and you can pre-order the 12” right now or stream/download via Bandcamp and many other digital outlets.
Coasting is the second collaborative effort from Cleveland natives Monster Rally and RUMTUM. It picks up where the duo left off on their debut EP, finding the artists sharing samples, vinyl, and drums. Their funk-influenced, beat-driven tracks are put through a globe-trotting lens of Caribbean calypso (Sunbay Hotel), Middle Eastern dance (Veil), Peruvian cumbia (Chicks) and American soul (Coasting).
The title refers to the recent cross-country moves that Feighan and Hastings both made in the last year (to Los Angeles and Seattle respectively). The EP is a reflection of these new locations and has a sunnier, more upbeat vibe than MR&RT EP’s winter influenced beats.
The artwork on the 12” is an internationally influenced piece as well. Combining Asian, Middle-Eastern, Native American and Indian cultural motifs, the EP artwork visually mirrors the sonic compositions that it represents. The etching on the vinyl is a Mandala, influenced by Tibetan sand paintings.

There’s only 3 copies remaining of Monster Rally’s incredible Beyond the Sea 12”.  The limited edition release features a gatefold jacket and is pressed on lava red vinyl (as seen above).  Pick up one of the remaining copies before they’re gone.
“(T)he perfect soundscape sabbatical from the real world– a lush, chill and beautiful holiday in your ears.” - Weekly Tape Deck
“Really, Ted Feighan’s music is far better consumed in album format. It simply doesn’t do the work justice to hear one song at a time. I listen to 2011’s Crystal Ball record in entirety all the time at home - it’s one of my favorite chillout albums on vinyl. His style is so inventive and fresh, its influences ranging from 50’s TV theme songs to 70’s krautrock.” - YVYNYL
“Beyond the Sea continues his explorations in looping sun filled tropical sounds that overlay creative relaxed percussive grooves reminiscent of the late Juan García Esquivel. That light drifting lounge sound is paired up with a strumming guitar and a slightly Hip-Hop cymbal, snare, and bass drum beat that is perfect for any summer party at the beach or next to your own backyard pool.” - Good Pop Bad Pop

Another wonderful video artist that specializes in found imagery goes by the name of El Famoso Demon.  He has tackled Monster Rally’s sounds previously, so we asked him to create a video for “Lava Flows” off the upcoming Beyond the Sea 12” which comes out later this month.  Check out the underwater adventure above, and pre-order the limited edition vinyl LP before they’re all gone.

Monster Rally’s upcoming 12” titled Beyond the Sea is now available for digital download in advance of the limited edition vinyl release.  You can download the album through iTunes or Bandcamp.  Pre-order the beautiful gatefold 12” pressed on lava red vinyl as well before it’s sold out.
Beyond the Sea is the second full length album from Monster Rally. The records sampled to create this album were dug from cities across the country and have been thrown through the lens of Monster Rally’s lo-fi production. The resulting album builds upon the skeleton of 2011’s Coral, adding muscle and structure in interesting places, to create a 42 minute song-cycle and continue Monster Rally’s exploration of sonic collage.
